route from DC to Deale
From mid-DC to Rockhold Creek Marina:

Though the Penn Ave to Route 4 is the most direct from mid-DC (downtown, Dupont Circle, U Street, etc.), Suitland Parkway to Route 4 East is the fastest. I take the 9th Street Tunnel to 395 East.
  1. Get on 395 East in DC (Southeast/Southwest Freeway)
  2. Follow signs for 295 South, go over 11th Street Bridge onto 295, stay in the right lane.
  3. Take Exit 3A in 1 mile.
  4. You're on Suitland Parkway East. Go 9 miles.
  5. Turn right at MD-4/Pennsylvania Ave. Go 10.9 miles.
  6. Exit onto West Bay Front Rd/MD-258 toward Bristol/Deale. Go 4.4 miles.
  7. Turn right at Solomons Island Rd (MD-2). Go 0.4 mi. (LESS THAN ONE MINUTE!)
  8. Turn left at MD-256/Deale Rd. Go 1.9 miles (THE STREET SIGN JUST SAYS "256").
  9. Go over the small bridge over Tracy Creek.
  10. Immediate right at Herring Bay Road (at the "Shipwright Harbor" sign). You'll see the "Rockhold Creek Marina" sign directly in front of you. Go straight (to the LEFT of the Rockhold Creek Marina sign -- NOT TO THE RIGHT into Shipwright Harbor).
From Northern VA* & MD burbs north of DC:
  1. Take the Beltway to Route 4 East. Go 11.6 miles.
  2. Exit onto West Bay Front Rd/MD-258 toward Bristol/Deale. Go 4.4 miles.
  3. Turn right at MD-2/Solomons Island Rd. Go 0.4 mi. (LESS THAN ONE MINUTE!)
  4. Turn left at MD-256/Deale Rd. Go 1.9 miles (THE STREET SIGN JUST SAYS "256").
  5. Go over the small bridge over Tracy Creek.

*If you are in Arlington it's faster to come through DC on 395 and do the 295 South/Suitland Parkway route.
